A Vida is collaborating on the construction of Dune House in the Netherlands, a fascinating architectural project steeped in history
Among the gentle undulations of the dunes in Hoek van Holland, a house emerges that seems to have been sculpted by the wind: Dune House. A project in which the A Vida teams participated and which represents more than just an architectural transformation. Dune House is a tribute to memory and serene beauty.
The project, designed by Studio Sluijzer and 88 Projects, has its origins in an intimate desire to create a smaller but extraordinary home. This space would resonate with its owners’ new stage of life.
Dune House is the reinvention of an old bungalow, now converted into a home with a powerful identity that is warm and deeply timeless.
The A Vida teams played an essential role in this metamorphosis. They designed and manufactured unique cladding that dresses the spaces with a delicately contemporary aesthetic. Natural textures, clean lines, and a color palette inspired by the mineral tones of the landscape have given the house a sober and sophisticated elegance that dialogues with the architecture and the environment.

The harmonious balance of Dune House
Each room reflects a harmonious balance between intimacy and openness. The bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor—a clear nod to comfort without sacrificing design—exude serenity and light. The surfaces, clad in materials designed and produced by A Vida, evoke a sense of calm and permanence as if the house itself had always been part of the landscape.
Beyond its impeccable aesthetics, Dune House is imbued with deep symbolic value. Originally built as part of a state plan after the great flood of 1953, this house was one of two homes donated to Hoek van Holland as a symbol of hope and reconstruction. Today, in a new light, this house is reborn as a celebration of design and collective memory.
