A Vida Group participates in creating Lobito de Mar, a vibrant gastronomic space that brings the best of the Mediterranean to Madrid's Golden Mile

Located in the Golden Mile of the exclusive Salamanca neighbourhood in Madrid, Lobito de Mar is configured as a bathysphere that encapsulates and revisits the essences of the Mediterranean coast, presenting them through a nostalgic prism complete with sophistication and elegance.
Articulating this fascinating gastronomic space of the Dani García Group around the sea and its different facets as leitmotiv was a task that required a special look. Unique. One that would combine a lively drive to create new horizons with an established expertise in the hospitality field. Characteristics that define us perfectly and that led A Vida Group to participate in this sensational project.
Four hundred and thirty square meters under the seas
A maritime iconography nourished by a centuries-old tradition articulates the appearance and aesthetics of every room that makes up Lobito de Mar without leaving aside the freedom for each compartment to play in a particular way with its own shapes, colours and textures.
The establishment’s 430 square meters are spread over two floors. On the first floor, there is a main dining room divided into two different rooms, which do not hesitate to respect their diversity. Each one evokes the nautical motifs of the fish markets and Mediterranean shipyards, respectively.
Earthy, light and luminous chromatic palettes dominate this space’s atmosphere, capturing the Mediterranean’s light and representing a seafaring style inspired by the most classic exquisiteness.
On the other hand, the basement area is home to two smaller private dining rooms, which conceptually recreate the interior of a ship and transport us to the bottom of the sea, changing the clarity of the surface for deeper tones and details of the marine flora and fauna.
Straddling both heights is a majestic staircase that connects Lobito de Mar‘s two levels. This staircase, flanked by mooring ropes, is crowned by an infinite and majestic facing bearing the imprint of A Vida.
Our team of artisans crafted this imposing wall with natural sand. The finish explores the textures of Mediterranean beaches, creating a play of imperfect horizontal lines reminiscent of the shapes that the tide imprints on the shore as it recedes.
In the same way, our way of creating has taken part in Lobito de Mar‘s bathrooms. They are immersed in an abyssal atmosphere. Dark. Leaving aside the previous softness and kindness to pay homage to the most industrial aspects of the sea.
Representing an authentic fish market, the services are dressed with metals and aged finishes, creating a raw and aseptic space that remembers the elegance and sophistication that identify the establishment. Immersed in a play of sombre waters, the set pivots around an imposing washbasin in the shape of a cement trough, whose pores appear battered by prolonged exposure to the onslaught of the most tireless waves.
Lobito de Mar is, in short, a stimulating and comforting journey through the most exclusive and unforgettable sea experiences.
